We have been going through a process using a range of 21st Century skills to develop a narrative and final product that is designed to evoke emotions in those who watch. Have we been successful?
Have a look at our creations and let us know what you think. Our final products were made using Powerpoint, Movie Maker or iMovie.

We have been focusing our PBL on Disasters. We have researched and made presentations to the class. Have a look at out personal blogs to see part of the reports.
Several students conducted demonstrations. This was one of the better ones. Well done Julien.
We organised ourselves into groups to explore, discuss, design, construct and test our ideas on making objects to meet the demands of the Amazing Race. Here we are (some of us anyway), doing some discussion, research and planning.
Here are a few pictures related to our HSIE and Science in term 2.
To wrap up our study of Antarctica, we had a visit from Pat Farmer who has visited Antarctica and completed an amazing run from the North Pole to the South Pole. You can find out more about him at : http://poletopolerun.com/pat-farmer/
We dressed warm to hear about Pat's adventures which included involvement in restoration of Mawson's Hut. He even had a piece of the original Hut to touch and see. We also had the privilege of actually touching a piece off an Antarctic iceberg, probably frtozen thousands of years ago.
Here are a couple of samples of our work in Electricity:
Our recent days, we have been gearing up our skills and understandings so that we can have real, live blogs to work with. Here are 2 things we did very recently:
We played a simulation where we started a paper "post" which we then passed around for people to comment on. We had to read the blog and make an approriate comment within a very short, set time. This was an interesting and quite realistic simulation.
We searched on the internet for 6 blogs from Year 6 classes in 6 different countries and then wrote 6 lines of comment as to what made them good (or not so good) blogs. This helped us understand some things that would help make our blogs better.
Yesterday, we set up our blogs. Links are on the second page above. Have a look and let us know what you think.
The main aim of our blogs is to improve our writing skills. It will help us if your comments can make suggestions about how we can make our writing better.
Our Mogo recount has been updated with our latest adjustments. It is just about finished.
Some photos and pictures will be added very soon to make it even better for you.
We are enjoying the Gold simulation game. Yesterday we had enough money to join in the auction to buy businesses on the Goldfields.
The best bargain was made by Chloe and Stephanie who bought the Buther shop for half it's reserve price.
The riskiest purchase was made by Michael Matthew Brendon and Ben who paid more than double the reserve for the Post Office but worked well to share the cost 4 ways.
Pictures will be on the block very soon:
