Should Homework Be Banned?
There has been a battle about this topic for many years. Pupils will
usually argue that homework should be banned but I can see why it is important.

From a child’s perspective, homework is the same as doing chores. We hate it. We get home from school; kick up our feet only to find we have a massive amount of homework to do. All this homework takes at least an hour to do a decent job. This takes up too much time and stops us from doing the things we love! With all the assignments, chores, out of school activities and personal time. We don’t have enough time to do all of these things!

On the other hand, homework helps educate and exercise our mind while away from school and lets us improve the things we struggle with at our own pace. Homework takes us too much time or just the right amount of time! Whenever we are extremely bored we can do our homework as, like I said, takes up a good amount of time to accomplish.

To conclude, I feel that homework shouldn’t be banned as it is good but
only given out once a fortnight, giving students a 1 week break.

SHOULD WE HAVE HOMEWORK !!!

Should we have home work some people say yes and some people say no.
 

The first point of my argument is that homework is revision so you can get better at what you have already learnt and parents might want to know what their children are learning. Secondly your parents pay a lot of money for your education and if they wanted they could help you with your homework. When you have tests your revision from your homework will help you.
 

However against this argument children and parents get stressed and fight with each other. Some children have afternoon activities and cant get their homework done. I support that children should not have homework because we already have school 5 day and 6 hours each week so I think its enough work already.
 

To conclude I think children should not have homework because it gives stress to the children and the parents.

Should students be able to sit next to Friends in Class?

 

Lately friends at school have been able to sit next to each other in class but is that a bad thing to do or is it a good thing to do.

In class sometimes you have to do partner work and u have to do it with someone next to you and if you're next to your friends you can work with them instead of being upset with your partner. If you're stuck on something like maths you can just discuss it with your friends because there sitting next to you. If you're sitting next to your friends and you forget something like a pen you can easily ask your friend to borrow one instead of being frightened of asking someone you don’t know very well.

However, if you are sitting next to your friend you tend to talk to much and you don’t

get your work done and you don’t think properly. Also if you are sitting next to your friend and your talking and being silly your class gets distracted and you get distracted and no one can get there work done. Also if you're sitting next to your friend the teacher will get angry because you are getting distracted and not listening to the teacher and it will all be put onto your report which then you will get a bad report and your parents will get angry and upset at you because it was bad.

People don't get there work done when friends sit together but when friends sit together they have good priorities as well.

Should Minecraft be banned from School?

This argument is to discuss-Minecraft not being banned from school.

The first point in favour of this argument that I would like to make is-Minecraft is a game where you are in a normal human world but,just made of blocks.This is where you can build stuff,fight monsters,chat with your friends and mine.Minecraft is mostly played by year 6 and up. Secondly, Minecraft shouldn’t be banned from school because it’s educational in some ways and rude in others. You see it’s like maths. Your crafting a house,its walls are supposed to be 5 blocks long but you put 10,keep taking blocks away until you get 5, which the answer is 5.

However against this argument,Minecraft should be banned from school because,you need your own account. If Minecraft wasn’t banned kids would make their own accounts and if they forgot the password they would make loads more of accounts for no reason at all. In support of this, I feel that Minecraft is a fun way to relax with your friends while you are mining together. A server is a good way to do so.

To conclude I feel that Minecraft shouldn’t be banned from school,because it’s a fun,educational,relaxing and a good way to get together and have a great time with your friends.

Should children any age be able to compete in beauty pageants

Children shouldn’t be allowed to enter anything like beauty pageants, its basically child abuse!! Unless they like it..

1.The judges don’t accept you to take your time to prepare your child to get her makeup on.

2.It costs about $750-$1000 to enter a pageant, plus the dresses, nails, hair and spray tans.

3.Parents get competitive with each other and the judges too so it never turns out the way you wanted it to.

1.Yet again, at pageants your child has the opportunity to show off their natural skills and have fun up on stage.

2.if you win you get a crown thats taller than 8 inches, a trophy taller than 20 inches and of course, what every pageant mum wants their child to win, the Ultimate Grand Supreme. If you win that, you get up to $250-$5000 prize money!! And you also can get a rare trip overseas across the world.

Overall I wouldn’t band beauty pageants like Toddlers and Tiaras but i would definitely wouldn’t put my child through a competition where you judges on their beauty.

Are Parramatta Eels the best team?

 

The battle of NRL has been going for years and now I will discuss whether Parramatta is the best team in the NRL or not.

 

Parramatta Eels are coming 15th out of 16 and are right behind the West Tigers. Parramatta have won the premiership a few times and they have amazing football players. Parramatta have 2 co-captains. Jarryd Hayne and Tim Mannah. Jarryd Hayne has the 2nd most tries scored in

the NRL!

 

On the other hand Parramatta haven’t had the best season so far. They have not won a lot of games. They also got the wooden spoon last year which means they came last.

 

In conclusion, Parramatta Eels are an amazing team who have fantastic players even though they haven't won all of their games!!

Should I Be able to sit next to Skye and Emelyn?

Skye, Emy and I talk a lot. Should I be able to sit near them? 30% of 6S thinks that we shouldn't sit together.

 

Firstly, when Skye, Emy and I don't talk we can actually be very productive in our work. When I was writing this I didn't speak to them (Maybe). When other people talk it's usually us who gets the blame, but most of the time it's us who were talking.

 

Secondly, when our group of three has to do something hilarious and loud, we are the best at it!

 

Even though we are good at stuff when being grouped together, there are some things bad about this group. Some things are:

*Our group talks 24/7

*We always talk at very random times

*Emy always breaks the silence by doing a really weird laugh

*We make funny faces at each other

 

Sometimes, in class, we are allowed to talk but we are so loud we lose the privilege.

My final answer, is that I think we should we allowed to sit next to each other because it makes school a whole lot better.

Are Wests Tigers The Best Team In NRL?

For years and years it’s been around.The NRL with 16 teams,, From 2000 It’s the wests tigers! But here’s the important question are they the best team in The NRL?

 

The Wests Tigers are coming 14/16 on the ladder just in front of Parramatta Eels.Which isn’t too good because that is 3rd last. Something else that isn’t too helpful is that they are losing so many players because of injuries. The Wests Tigers have been together for 12 years and have only won the Premiership once! Even though they have good players the best player in the NRL is in another team!

 

However some of the players are really good that they play in state of origin and test matches. Even though they have only won the premiership once they have still won which is pretty cool! It was in 2005.Chris Heighington scored 324 points in one season which is a lot! They also have one of the best players which is Benji Marshall.

 

Wests Tigers are an amazing team! So I think they are the best team in the NRL!

Should Handwriting be a Subject

 

In this discussion we will be talking about if handwriting should be a subject and why it should and shouldn’t.We will also find out how it helps us and how it’s a let down.

 

Firstly, handwriting doesn’t really some people because most people are naturally neat,therefore they don’t need to improve their writing.Also when you get older you might have lots of school assignments. You could get stuck up with doing handwriting and not get your assignments handed in.

 

Secondly, handwriting is old now so instead of writing letters and it taking a couple of days for the letter to end up in it’s destination we can just use technology. We can use systems like email and texting to get a message faster and more efficiently which means no handwriting.

 

However against this, sometimes technology like emailing and texting can stuff up or get viruses. People could also know your password and get on your account.

 

In support of this, technology can also be hacked and if you have expensive technology someone could try to steal it off you.

 

To conclude I feel that handwriting doesn’t need to be a subject, but if technology fails or gets stolen, handwriting is a skill that can be used to write letters that could still help you.

SHOULD EVERYONE HAVE A DOG

Should everyone have a dog ? Well dogs are great pets to have but does everyone want a dog of their own ?

 

While walking your dog you can exercise. By running ,jogging and walking. When you walk your dog they are also exercising. If you forget or you don’t have time to exercise, you will get exercise while anyway by walking your dog.

Dogs can have lots of fun and one way is to teach them cool tricks. If your dog can do LOTS of tricks then you can enter them in a … DOG SHOW !!! But only if you want too.

 

But don’t forget you have to look after your dog. You have to pick up their droppings, brush them, feed them and give them fresh water.

Lots of dogs like to dig which can wreck your garde. So the only thing to do is to train them not to dig in your garden.

 

Dogs are great pets but you also have to clean after them and teach them not to dig in your garden.

Should Homework Be Banned?

 

I’m writing to determine whether homework should be banned or not.

 

The first point of this argument that I would like to state is that homework is a great way for kids to practice some of the things they are learning in class. It can also give kids something to do if they get bored. Some teachers like to incorporate homework with the internet, It makes homework a bit more fun! Homework also prepares the kids for upcoming tests.

Secondly, it can improve what the children are doing in class and can help others that struggle in certain subjects. It shows parents what or how their child are going in class.

 

On the other hand, some kids might suffer from stress because of them not handing their homework in on time or forgetting to do it. It also makes children and their families lose quality family time.

In support of this kids these days need to exercise and homework is stopping this from happening. It is very important for kids to be active and socialise with their friends.

 

In conclusion, I strongly believe that the amount of homework that us kids keep getting needs to be cut down.

Should homework be banned?

 

I’m writing to know whether homework should be banned or not.

 

First of all homework helps kids understand what they’re doing at school, so they get a heads up. It also shows parents what their kids are learning at school. Homework also gets kids ready for some tests like: NAPLAN, scholarship, pop quizzes and other tests.

Secondly homework improves kids understanding in certain subjects. It also helps kids do good in college. It gives kids something to do when they are bored.

 

However, against this, parents get too stressed over kids homework. Homework also ruins family time together. If kids always do it they might get obese for not exercising. Some kids have out of school activities and might not get it done.

In support of this kids should only get a small amount of homework.

To conclude I feel that kids shouldn’t get too much homework because too much homework causes too many problems.

Why we shouldn’t have homework?

 

This discussion is about why pupils shouldn’t have homework at school. Should we have homework at school yes? Or no?

 

One place where a price is paid for homework is family interaction. There is much less time for families to just be home and be together. It is common for each member of the family to go to their respective rooms and for there to hardly be any conversation or interaction. Freeing a child from homework at least a couple times per week can actually enhance family interaction and relationships. In addition, homework stresses parents out because we don’t get enough time to finish it Also homework is a complete 100% waste of time. Also at the most 90% of each class dislikes homework.

I also believe that every child should get the time to be outside and active not stuck inside a room doing boring old homework. It also interacts with children that have out of school sports and will not

have the time for homework.

 

On the other hand I do believe that we should have homework because it will help you when you’re older and need a job. We should also have homework because it helps you study for tests. I feel that homework is a complete waste of time. when we do 6 hours of work at school anyway. I hope all teachers will agree with me sooner or later that we shouldn’t do homework and it is a waste of time.

Why Everyone Should Have a Pet Dog

Dogs are very popular pets lately. Are you thinking about getting one? If so here are some good and bad things about dogs....

One of the awesome things about dogs is that you can train them so they can do cool tricks. There are sooooo many!!! They will be more obedient if you do this often but WARNING this will take time.

 

Now the obvious one. They are really cute!!! ( espcially puppies!) The curious ones might follow you around. They are sooo fun to play with and its good exercise for both you, and the dog.

 

However, against this argument is that they take up alot of time. You have to feed them, clean them and exercise them. WOW. Thats alot of work! ( Not good if you don’t have alot of time on your hands.) They are also expensive to look after! The food, the brushes, special dog shampoo ect it all adds up. Even the dogs/puppies cost a fortune!

 

All in all I believe that you should get a dog. It’s an amazing experience watching them grow up from tiny puppies to big dogs, some bigger than others. If you get one you wont regret it.

Why Jazzy should sit next to Skye and Me!!!!!!

 

Jaz talks 24-7, she talks & talks & talks but i THINK she can shut up for at least 10 minutes. I’m not sure but I think she can prove Mr. Sales wrong.

She MUST sit next to us, because if she sits next to anyone else ESPECIALLY MICHEAL she will fall asleep or cause suicide, because he annoys her sooo much. If she sits next to anyone else she might make friends with them & play with them then not play with us at all and TALK EVEN LOUDER!!! Then she won’t listen to anything you say, but we are her good friends so we can tell her to shut up! Yea i said it SHUT UP!

Then she shouldn’t sit with us because she will talk & talk & talk & talk & talk & talk & take over the world if you don’t move her. Please please please please please move her, because we don’t want to be deaf when we get older &&&& we are soooo sick of sponge bob. I spent all night cutting up pineapples and screaming, “ spongebob I know you're in there! “ Cause of Jazzy.

In summary we love Jazzy PLEASE LET HER STAY! She is our BFFL and if you move her she won’t be anymore. Then we can’t socialise!

Why Pupils shouldn’t have homework

Should children have to do do homework? No, I don't think so, its a waste of time and 90% of children agree with me!

 

Well, lets start with the fact that homework is a waste of time for lots of other things such as a Reading Challenge or practising for a race, homework just takes too long! Depending on how much homework you get, it just takes too much time! If you're studying, you have to do a lot of research and put lots of time into it. See! It takes too long, so students won't FOCUS and the children will go do something else! The child will forget about it and leave it to the last minute and have a big meltdown on the day before it is due.

However, homework can be good for letting your parents know what you're doing in class and see if they can help you or not. Having homework can help students with timetables at school so students can have a better idea what they're doing. With homework, you can help set goals of finishing it, for example, a student gets an essay and has 4 weeks to do it, they can make themselves a goal by finishing it in a week.

The again, students need to be more active in their life so student should go outside more and on the topic of that, the students may have after school events such as a sport or a music lesson. Students also need a break from school! Home is meant for chilling out and taking a nice break, school is meant for working hard and trying your best!

Overall, homework is not needed and it is a big waste of time and 90% of children agree.

Should MA+15 Games be allowed be allowed to the Underaged?

 

In this modern day, kids are being very violent. Pushing, shoving, (Physical abuse) swearing and name calling (Verbal abuse) is a major problem. Most of it caused by MA+15 games, such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, Gears of War and Some Halo. Kids are taking lots of influence.

 

Now, kids in the last years of primary are not immature, just silly. Kids under 15 cannot help it.They are like drunken people that are uncontrollable. If you were old enough, you would legally be allowed to play, even if they lack in being mature. High chance you will still be immature. Only some very mature children can play these games.

 

On the other hand, the rating is MA+15 and is a Government rating, thus making it illegal to play if under 15. It is rated +15 for a reason.10-13 y.o kids have young minds. The game penetrates into your mind and takes over. These kids go ‘loco crazy’. The game becomes reality and kids are violent to one another.

Games like this give children mental disorientations. It is said by doctors that you should not let your child play these games. It is not good. Only when your child is over at least 17 (like the U.S) should he or she be allowed to play these games.

SHOULD SOFTDRINK BE SOLD TO STUDENTS AT THE CANTEEN

Students aren’t allowed to buy soft drink. Should it stay the same or should we change the rules.

Once you drink the soft drink you’re supposed chuck the can in the bin right, but sometimes you just can’t help but be lazy and chuck it on the ground. When students do this the cans become a hazard to the animals that live near. This can be a result of dead animals everywhere which can stink up the whole land.

Soft drink is not healthy for you. It can do some serious damage to your body. Maybe this is the reason why we aren’t aloud to buy soft drink at the canteen. Your way is not always the right way.

When it comes to soft drink there’s a major problem, teachers are allowed to buy it as much as they want but on the other hand students can’t. why aren’t students allowed to buy cans of coke, this needs to end NOW!!!!!!!!

It’s a boiling hot summers day and you feel like a refreshing cold lemonade, guess what, students aren’t allowed to buy it. This nonsense needs to stop, there is no reason for this crime, it needs to change.

I feel that the canteen should sell soft drink can to everyone so we can all get a refreshing drink in the summer.

Should School Provide Lunch For School?

 

Should school provide our daily lunch?Some people say yes because they don’t have time to make it, but others say no because the school might put things that people are allergic to in it.

 

School should do it because families won’t be in such a ruch to get it done, students who are allergic will benefit because the teachers will make sure there is no bad stuff in it, no one will be hungry if they forgot they’re lunch because they can’t, parents know that their child is eating properly and healthily and also the parents who have children with allergies wont worry because the teachers will make sure that nothing bad goes in their lunch.

However against this argument people say it would cost the school money, some students might not like the food, there might not be enough food for everyone to have and some students who haven’t eaten it all might waste the food because there is too much.

Overall i think that school providing lunch is a good idea. Although home made lunch is good i think it would just be better for the school to do it. I think that it is not only easier but it will be healthy food and yummy to!!!
